WordPress users, please note WordPress has a new urgent release update.
If you allow registration to you WordPress site, then I would recommend you to download and replace xmlrpc.php.
WordPress 2.3.3 has other minor bug fixes as well, but if you are just looking for the security fix, then downloading xmlrpc.php should be good enough.
Per WordPress: “a flaw was found in the XML-RPC implementation such that a specially crafted request would allow a user to edit posts of other users on that blog”.
Remember, to secure your WordPress installation, just installing 2.3.3 is not enough. Take a look at my other posts in the “Security” category and you’ll find more essential steps you have to take for better securing your site.
If you have any questions, or need help, let me know.
