I like how your blog is integrated with your website.
Job well done. I would only work on the top menu to make it better stand out.
As far as just using fantastico is okay, except I would add more security using .htaccess features and keep in mind: Upgrading a wordpress fantastico installation could be a big headache in the future.

I have to agree with you that cPanel is a wonderfully easy way of installing a blog. I have never done it the traditional way – always just using “fantastico” through cPanel.
