Thanks for writing. I use this method with wordpress packages for some of my customers and never had any issues so far.
I also add to wordpress files something like 20 plugins and a number of themes which can make the directory structure pretty large, however I never had problems with it. cPanel does a pretty good job making this process easy for individual site owners.

This is a good method for small number of files or large sized media files. however when uploading a software with complex directory structure, this can be cumbersome

Yes, many tutorials focus on FTP software without even mentioning the fact that if you use cPanel, you don’t really need FTP software.

cPanel offers ways to upload files.

Be on the Lookout for my next post. I will share how to upload software scripts without using FTP, and I plan to use WordPress as an example.
