I agree, and I already signed up for a VPS server that I want to dedicate to blog and blog related sites mainly. Even if I have my own server, I will need to have it serviced at a datacenter, where they keep an eye on it 24/7.
The issue comes when there is some network problems that are out of my control. I just have to choose a good quality data center for a long term relation.

seems like a reliability issue.

its understandable that when you rely on other people, some things are beyond your control.

I suggest if you see this as long term business, you should take things into your own hand maybe a dedicated server?

Here is the latest email I received from them:

Dear Client,

We are very sorry for late response and apologize for the inconveniences caused to you. Problem is due to router failure, not only your server but all our servers are down and we are working 24/7 to get everything backup ASAP.

I am really sorry, but at this time we are unable to provide any time frame, but everything should be up ASAP.

My hosting site is still down, since Saturday morning when I noticed.

I host my blog with a different provider that I plan to move all my other sited to.

I am following up and here is the latest of what I received:

We understand your frustration and appreciate your patience in this matter.
Currently we have some network issues at our data center which are being worked on by our Network Administrator. The problem will be resolved in next few hours.
We have restored services of most of the servers.

Rest of the servers will be up in next few hours. We will keep you updated on the status of this.

Just wondering how you went with getting your site back up, I am hosted with them too, been down 4 days now - dont have backups for my 12 sites… my own stupid fault I spose.
